Frency May : Glass Music

I've heard the tones of Glass Harmonica before the concert though media earlier, although I cannot say I like it, however, we have the opportunity to appreciate this musical instrument of 18th century in French May.

The concert started with Samson Young's "I give you a Transparent Wonderland" that was also with videa and electronics. After that, it was Philip Glass's "Company" simple in form with a gloomy and lonely feeling.

Thomas Bloch performed the "Quintet for Glass Harmonica and Strings" with the Glass Harmonica. This song wrote by Benjamin Franklin and Franklin is also the inventor of this instrument. Franklin believed "Its tones are incomparably sweet beyond those of any other."

Followed that Thomas Bloch played Mozart's Adgio & Rondo in C major, KV617 also together playing with fluet, obeo, viola and cello.

Soprano YuKi Ip Po-ching dressed a blue long skirt singing Johann Adolph Hasse's "Cantata L'Aromonica (Excerpts) with her firm-sweet voice. It seemed to show "unique" of this concert. Surprisingly!

Finally, the orchestra played well-known Hydan's Symhony No.96 "Miracles" ended the concert this evening.
